Air India Express expanded its domestic network with six new destinations from 1 September 2026, according to the airline's own route announcements: Aurangabad, Coimbatore, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Madurai and Tirupati. The addition takes the airline's overall network, domestic and international combined, to 64 destinations.

What the new routes look like
According to the airline's published schedule, Aurangabad and Delhi are connected twice daily, as are Coimbatore and Mumbai, and Jamnagar and Mumbai. Jodhpur gained daily service to both Delhi and Mumbai, Madurai a daily link to Chennai, and Tirupati a daily connection to Hyderabad, each route feeding into one of the airline's existing metro hubs.
Frequency increases on existing routes
Alongside the new destinations, Air India Express added frequencies on four existing Delhi routes from the same date: Delhi-Bhubaneswar and Delhi-Patna moved to four daily flights each, while Delhi-Kochi and Delhi-Varanasi increased to two daily flights.
Why it matters for travellers
The new routes give several tier-two cities, among them Jodhpur, Coimbatore and Tirupati, more direct or same-day connections to major metro hubs without relying on a single daily service or a longer connection. For travellers based in or visiting these cities, it widens same-day return options for business trips as well as onward connections through Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad.
This is a live, recently updated schedule; airlines revise routes and frequencies without much notice, so confirm current flight days, timings and fares directly with Air India Express before booking.
Traveller tips
- These routes launched on 1 September 2026; check the airline's current schedule directly, since frequencies on new routes are often adjusted in the first months.
- Some of the new city pairs run daily and others twice daily; confirm exact days before planning connecting travel.
- The Delhi frequency increases affect existing Bhubaneswar, Patna, Kochi and Varanasi services, which may open up more convenient same-day return options.
- Always verify current flight status and terminal details directly with Air India Express before travelling.
